Day by Day Details Itinerary

Day 01. Delhi/Leh Flight

Early morning around 3 am transfer to the domestic air port. After an exciting  flight from  Delhi to Leh . We receive and transfer to hotel. Take complete rest for the day for acclimatization. Lunch in the hotel, in the evening take a walk around Leh market.

Day 02. Shanti Stup/ Sankar/ Namgyal Tsemo/ Lehchen Spalkar
Morning we will be doing short sight seeing around upper Leh. Shanti Stupa, built by Japanese master in 1995, from here we can  have the panaromic views of Leh and surrounding areas of Indus valley. Sankar Gonap is a  small Gelukpa  Buddhist monastery at upper  Leh and it is the monastery of Head lama  of Ladakh. Namgyal Tsemo or the  Victory peaks as it is called is on the top of the Leh and it was a ancient Casstle of Ladakh King dRakpa Bumde and  Lehche Spakar or the Leh Palace is in nine storey  built in 17th century by Ladakhi famous King Senge Namgyal. Now it is taken care by the Archeological Survey of India, dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 03. Stok Palace/Shey/ Thiksey/ Hemis monastery/Leh

After breakfast leave by jeep to visit Stok royal Palace, the present home of royal family of Ladakh and you can visit the most beautiful royal musuen for ancient ornaments, jewelleries, Crown of the King and the queen.SHEY- The ancient capital of Ladakh,17th century copper gold gilted statue of historical Buddha.  THIKSEY, the  most beautiful Gelukpa monastery and huge famous Future Buddha- The Lord Maitreya and HEMIS, The Drukpa monasteries located in the deep gorge, dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 04: Leh - Spituk - Zinchen (3200 m) in 4 h

We drive 10 km to Spituk from where we start our trek. We cross Indus river and enter in the Valley of Zinchen river. Near the village in the Valley we will have our first camp after 4 hr walk.

Day 05: Zinchen - Yurutse (3844 m) in 5 h
After by passing this beautiful stopping valley, we ascent up to 4900 m. by very steep zigzag, difficult footpath, by now it is 3 h. Now steep descent to summer pastures of Stok and follow the river which comes from Stok - Kangri massif.

Day 06: Yurutse - Ganda La (4900 m) - Skiu (3510 m) in 6/7h
urutse follow path along the mountainside, then cross a small valley and follow zig zag steep path. Thereafter cross Gandala. Then long descent towards Shingo. After 2 Hrs. descent arrive in the valley of Markha and then after few hundred meters further will reach Skiu.

Day 07: Skiu - Markha (3850 m) in 7 h
From Skiu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross right bank of river and cross through barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Good camp site beyond the village and near river.

Day 08: Markha - Thachungtse (4500 m) in 4 h
Start trek towards the main valley on the right bank. The path is sometimes difficult in the river bed and pass the monastery of Humlung. Then carry on trek along the right bank and arrive in Thachungtse.

Day 09: Thujungste to Kangyatse Base Camp (5200 m)
Today is an easy walk. The trail from Thujungste leads you to Nimaling passing through several Mani walls and shepherd camps. On the way the views of Kangyatse Peak are simply spectacular. Nimaling is a beautiful place and one can spend the afternoon exploring the valley. You can spot Blue Sheep and other wildlife in this area From Nimaling it is a steady climb up to Base Camp (5200 m)..

Day 10: Base camp - High camp (2 hrs)
Today is crucial, so we will spend the morning recuperating from the last few days' fatigue. After sufficient rest, we will embark on a steep 2-hour climb to High Camp (5500 m). Although the distance is quite short, the altitude makes the hike quite strenuous.

Day 11: High camp - Summit - Base camp (9-10 hrs) KANGYTSE SUMMIT DAY
The final push, beginning at 2 am , will be both physically and mentally challenging. But once atop the summit (6200m), the surrounding awe-inspiring scenery of Tibet , and the Zanskar and mighty Karakoram ranges, all of our numbing pains will melt away in a warm glow of success! After spending an hour on top of the world, we will descend to Base Camp, where we will while away the afternoon, relaxing and congratulating each other on a job well done.

Day 12: Kangyatse Base - Nimaling (3 hrs)
From Base Camp trail descend down to Nimaling Plateau, offering impressive views of Kang Yaste (6400m). Nimaling - 4700 Mts. is one of the most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh. Overnight in tents.

Day 13: Nimaling to Shangsumdo via Kongmarula 5200 m (7 hours)4700-3600m
After a hearty breakfast, we will cross Kongmaru La, the highest pass on the trek. Here we have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The 2-hour descend is quite steep, but will gradually level as we enter Shang Gorge, with its strange and otherworldly rock formations. More river crossings bar our way before we arrive at the sour-spring of Chuskurmo (used in traditional medicine by the Amchi doctors). After a break, we will pass through a couple of villages before reaching Shang Sumdo, where we will spend our last evening together.

Day 14: Shangsumdo to Leh via Martselang3600-3100m
Our spirits lifted by a successful trek, we will enjoy a pleasant 2-hr walk along a jeep road to Martselang, where the jeep will pick us up for Leh.

Day 15: Leh/Delhi

Early morning transfer to the air port, arrive in delhi, visit old and new delhi evening  after the dinner transfer to international air port
